Parenting any child has its joy and heartache for sure. We all want the best for our children. If a child is born to a family and is "diagnosis less" they are in ballet and baseball and all kinds of after school programs. There parents are all working hard to bring their child to its fullest potential. Right? When we receive a diagnosis we have them in therapy and modify our home and their diet and every aspect of our very lives, work 10X harder with that child and for that child, to try to bring them to their fullest potential and sometimes still have them in ballet and baseball. :) Many people just don't understand. It is no different than us always learning and growing and changing to try to be the best we can be as well. Life is never stagnate. We are all always learning and changing. I think thru awareness we can find a happy balance in the eyes of all people. I mean if we all go and be evaluated in every area of our health and life I am sure we would all walk away with at least one diagnosis. :) Then we would be on a quest to fix it. I think your family is great and I can see your valid concerns. We have been there myself with my Antonio we just could not lift him our selves safely anymore. Praise God we have rectified that now. Even though I love all my children the way they are and for who they are I still pray for them to find a way to permanently fix my daughter heart, to find a cure for the terribly painful spacicity of my sons cerebral palsy and to bring better understanding in the minds of my children with autism. When you live with the severe daily many people will just never understand. blessings susanAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06941712767626451024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6942900775029495748.post-39465456735207945272013-04-04T05:05:52.911-06:002013-04-04T05:05:52.911-06:00Thanks, Jane!!!Thanks, Jane!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13601329296517304013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6942900775029495748.post-34516696497101268772013-04-03T19:09:56.395-06:002013-04-03T19:09:56.395-06:00Loving your child and wanting better, healthier an...Loving your child and wanting better, healthier and less struggle is never a bad thing or to be considered a pity scenario.

Wanting to remove a malady from your child is just good parenting, regardless of the diagnosis.

People need to just realize that that does not change the amount of love, respect and acceptance we have already for our child.

Do people still attempt and struggle to walk straight after a major injury is done to their spine?

Does anyone say stop trying to get better "you should just accept it"

Why not try to recover the full faculty of the mind?
